I attended Long Island University and the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I am currently studying at the University of Santa Barbara, where I am working towards my Ph.D. in East Asian Languages and Culture. I have tutored a range of people, from young learners to retirees. In this time, I have worked as a teacher, a professor, a language coach, a university administrator, and a tutor. Along with working in the United States, I have lived and worked in seven other countries as well.I am dedicated to helping my students achieve their academic goals. For me, teaching is a full time passion that has motivated me to work in education for the past eighteen years. I am currently living in Goleta, California, where I tutor a number of subjects, including Japanese, English as a first and second language, reading, writing, grammar, public speaking, and religious studies. I teach students how to properly write and edit their essays, how to improve their study habits and organizational skills, and how to independently complete homework assignments. I also help students prepare for a number of standardized tests, like the TOEFL, the GRE, and the SAT.I personally believe that the best educators spend their lifetimes learning. In my free time, I love learning about Japan, playing video games, and reading and watching anything related to science fiction.
