Hi! I'm a recent graduate of UC Berkeley, where I majored in philosophy. I'm currently taking classes at UCSB and hoping to apply for a Ph.D. in psychology. One day I hope to be a psychology professor!
Experience
I’ve been helping students master their material, conquer their exams, and boost their scores for roughly five years now. My teaching philosophy is derived from the old adage, “give a man a fish, and he eats for a day; teach a man to fish, and he eats for a lifetime”; the goal isn’t just to help my students find the right answers, but to provide them with a deeper understanding of their chosen subject matter, so that they can ultimately find the right answers themselves. I’ve found that the confidence and joy that arises when a student fully grasps something is the foundation for a lifelong love of learning! I specialize in teaching math, English, Latin, philosophy, and all three subjects for the SAT. I scored a 5/5 on AP tests for Calculus BC, English Language and Composition, Latin, and US History and scored a 2360/2400 on the SAT.
