I have three years graduate Teaching Assistant experience at UC Santa Barbara, during which time I instructed hundreds of lower and upper division undergraduate students in essay writing and literary analysis. I am available to tutor students in English literature, reading, and writing. In my years at UCSB I’ve received consistently positive quarterly student evaluations from my students and professors, culminating in an Academic Senate Teaching Award nomination in my second teaching year. My profound love of literature is reflected in a passionate, knowledgable teaching style that students can relate to both personally and professionally. As much as I care about the literature itself, I care equally about my students’ writing and critical thinking ability. My feedback on student essays and writing assignments frequently goes above and beyond the normal expectation for such work, with many students reflecting in their evaluations on my determination to make them better writers, readers, and thinkers.
