March 28th, 2011-Present: Currently training as an intern to become one of two head coordinators for the Family Literacy Program (F.L.P.), a non-profit organization within the Community Affairs Board of UCSB. F.L.P is a program dedicated to improving and enhancing the learning skills of students outside the university campus. October 4th, 2010-Present: As a volunteer tutor, I am currently responsible for improving the literacy skills of fifteen to twenty students K-8th grade at Children's Park in Isla Vista, CA. September 28th, 2010-Present: As Community Service Chair for my Latino based organization, Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity Inc., I oversee, plan, and manage fellow brothers in order to create community events and programs throughout the school year. September 23th, 2010-December 2nd, 2010: Education 191B was a class that provided internship training in alcohol and drugs, including life skills (i.e., self-awareness and assertive communication); health skills; and peer education skills (i.e., group facilitation and motivational interviewing). Proficient in Spanish.
